Medical Services:

Pregnancy Tests:

To give you a more definite answer, one of our registered nurses can perform a lab-certified pregnancy test for you at our clinic at no cost.  They can detect the hCG pregnancy hormone as early as 7 days after conception (or 21 to 24 days after the first day of your last period.) The test is over 99% accurate. The results of the test will be available during your appointment.

With the results of your test, positive or negative, our nurse can additionally provide you with information about your next steps. If you are pregnant, we may be able to do a limited obstetrical ultrasound to provide you with even more information about the pregnancy.

Regardless of what you decide to do with this pregnancy, it’s highly recommended to get an ultrasound. This is because it will tell you how far along exactly you are and whether the pregnancy is viable.

Ultrasounds:

After learning that you are pregnant, you may want to have an ultrasound. An ultrasound is a safe diagnostic technique that uses sound waves. It is used to reveal more details about your pregnancy, including how far along you may be. Riverways provides limited obstetrical ultrasounds at no cost.

At Riverways a registered nurse will perform the scan. A friend or family member may sit in with you if you prefer. The nurse will measure the heartbeat and the size of the baby to determine the stage of pregnancy you are in. We can take photos from the scan for you to take home with you. Your ultrasound results will be reviewed by Riverway’s Medical Director, a practicing OB/GYN doctor.

Perinatal & Postnatal Depression Screenings:

In addition to our other medical services we are also able to provide perinatal and postnatal depression screening for you during and after pregnancy. This provides you with safeguards and the ability to seek earlier intervention in case of perinatal and postnatal depression.
